| In addition to his military service, Mr Wickam was a fireman for 38 years. He had served as Fire Chief of
Beaverton, OR, Milwaukie, OR, and La Grande. He was past president of the Oregon Fire Chiefs' Association and was assigned as a fire tech with the U.S. Embassy in Saigon, Republic of Vietnam from 1969 until the embassy was abandoned in 1975. He was on the second to last helicopter to leave the embassy. At the time of his death, he was Post Commander of American Legion Post 43, La Grande, OR. The Oregon Fire Chiefs' Association is coordinating and will also be participating. |
