Stanley O. Wartenbee, 86, of Scio, passed away on Sat. Jan. 30th at Lebanon. He was born at Aberdeen, South Dakota and grew up in South Dakota before serving in the US Army during WWII. He was married to Mavis Morrison on Aug. 2, 1942, they later divorced. He had worked as a Ford mechanic and worked in a granite quarry before moving to Oregon in 1952. He was married to Lillian Mummert on March 1, 1963 in Albany. He had worked in the mill at Long Bell, Williams Mayflower in Eugene for 19 years, also as a truck driver for Capitol City transfer (Bekins) in Salem before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the local teamsters in Salem, the Stayton VFW Post 5638 and enjoyed attending military reunions.

He enjoyed gun shows, fishing and hunting, playing cards and traveling.
Contributions may be made on his behalf to Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survived by daughter, Darlene Olson of Veneta; son, Dwight Wartenbee of Elmira; step-children, Jim Moulton and Monica Dickinson both of Wyoming; sister, Jean Benting of Portland; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death sons, Richard and Stanley Jr.

Funeral service will be Sat. Feb. 6th at 10:30 am at Weddle Funeral Chapel, Stayton, OR. Burial will follow with military honors at Franklin Butte Cemetery in Scio.
