VERNON THOMAS SAPP JR.
October 25, 1923 ~ April 4, 2015

Vernon Thomas Sapp Jr. from Camas, Washington, passed away on April 4, 2015 at the age of 91. Vern was born in Whitesville, Kentucky. He lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Camas in 1969.
One of a few left, Vern served in the Navy during World War II. He was involved in the U.S. Amphibious Force, and was a cook on one of the ships that transported troops and equipment to Normandy, France on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
Vern was a sheet metal worker in Pennsylvania and later transferred to Battle Ground, Washington. Then in 1968, he went to work for Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill until his retirement in 1985.
Vern had a love for fishing and shared his passion with all who knew him. He liked country western music and clothes, and had a collection of over thirty belt buckles.
Vern and his wife Lillian A. (Wenthin) Sapp shared a love for traveling and together they saw most of the United States and Mexico. He also spent time gardening and passed his abundant knowledge onto others.
