 Born to Myrtice Messinger-Grey and Robert M. Madaris in Grass Valley, Ore., he graduated from high school in Grass Valley, Calif. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in World War II from 1942 to 1946. He attended Portland State University and retired from Portland General Electric. Later he worked for the Port of Vancouver. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie
