Wendlin was born Dec. 29, 1921, in Linton, N.D. At age 16 he moved to Yakima. He joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II both in the Army Recon Unit and the Corps of Engineers. A year after returning home, Wendlin met Bernadine ; they married in 1952 and moved to Portland. He worked as a finish carpenter and a locksmith for Portland Public Schools. He joined St. Therese Parish in 1955 and was a member of the Elks for over 25 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bernadine; daughters, Debi and Cheryl ; and son, Craig. | ||||||||
