Long time Mill City, OR resident, Tom White, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016.
Tom leaves our community a much better place. He was a friend to all and a person who believed in giving back. Tom served as a member of the Mill City Fire Department, a city commissioner, and a member of the Fire Board.
His mission in life was to honor those who served our country through his membership in the Patriot Guard Riders, Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association, American Legion Riders and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Tom was born in Potlatch to Alfred and June White. He grew up in Orofino and loved to share stories of his time there. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1967, and the Oregon National Guard from 1981 through 1990. Tom loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle riding and computers.
Tom’s passion and mission in life was honoring and serving America’s veterans by attending veteran’s funerals, providing escort services, standing flag lines and helping vets obtain the services they needed.

Tom will be truly missed by many. Anyone wishing to honor Tom may do so by making donations to the Tom White Fund at the Mill City Eagles 640 SW Broadway, Mill City, OR 97346. All proceeds from this fund will be donated to a veteran’s organization in his honor.
He will be interred at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon on Tuesday, Feb. 9, with full military honors. |
