 John served as an Aircraft Electrician/Repairman from November 1956 through June 1960, with 3 years overseas. He transferred to the USAF Reserve and served there until Nov 1962.

JOHN "JOCK" THOMAS SHIELDS 
April 13, 1937 ~ April 7, 2013

John T. "Jock" Shields was born in Seattle, WA on April 13, 1937 to John and Joan Shields. He passed peacefully in his home, April 7th, 2013. Jock graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1956. 
He served in the Air Force from Nov. 30th, 1956 - June 30, 1960. 
He was a dedicated member of the Vancouver Elks.
Jock met and married his wife of 30-1/2 years, Regina "Jeanie" Shields, August 14, 1982. 
Jock loved bowling, taking his family boating and camping, and had a passion for old cars.
Jock is survived by his wife, Regina "Jeanie" Shields; sister, Jan Shockley; children, Jodie A. LeBar, Jon J. Shields, John C. Shields and Jodi R. Shields; 4 grandchildren; and 1 soon-to-be great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. 
Jock was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew J. Shields; and brother, Jerry Shields.
A Celebration of Life to be held Sun., April 14th, 2013 at 1 o' clock in the afternoon at The Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, WA. The family requests that you wear RED to the celebration in honor of Jock. 
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to The Vancouver Elks.
