William R. "Russ" Marler, 51, Hillsboro, died July 19, 2009, in Portland, with his family by his side.
A life celebration will be held at a later date in Reno, Nev.
A private funeral service will be July 24 at Donelson-Fir Lawn Memorial Center Chapel, 1070 W. Main St., Hillsboro, with interment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Russ Marler was born April 14, 1958, in Sacramento, Calif., a son of Hester and Willeta Marler.
He lived in Sacramento, where he attended school through junior high. The family then moved to Wisconsin where he graduated from high school. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and later transferred into the U.S. Army.
He moved to Reno in 1989. He earned his associate's degree in radiology and worked for Sierra Nevada Charter School for 10 years.
He married Betsy, June 30, 2001. They lived in Reno until early 2009, when he and his wife moved to Hillsboro. |
