Wayne W. Bauer passed away on January 3, 2020 at his home in Oregon City, OR at the age of 83.

Wayne was born July 9, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the fourth child of Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Keber) Bauer. He was the last surviving sibling. He met his wife LaVerne Lutz at a Lutheran, all singles group, in Portland. They were married in 1967 in Gladstone, OR.

Wayne joined the Oregon National Guard in May, 1954. He graduated from West Linn High School in 1955. He attended drafting school, the University of Portland, and Mechanic school. He worked for the Oregon Army National Guard in Clackamas for 35 years in the receiving department. He was a member of
various units, and retired from active duty after 42 years of service.

Wayne enjoyed coaching little league baseball, watching & 'refereeing' all sports on TV, telling stories, working in the yard, and traveling. However, fishing was his greatest love next to spending time with his family. Rest assured, Wayne always had to be busy, and he was always doing something. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by all.

Wayne is survived by his wife LaVerne, daughter Amy Rokosz (Michael) ,son Aaron, companion Dixie, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 AM on January 25, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 16000 Henrici Road, Oregon City, OR followed by a reception. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
