Kenneth V. Rose October 30, 1927 - April 17, 2012 SALEM -Ken was born to Willie & Elsie Rose in Ekalaka, Montana. After graduating from Liberty High School in Brentwood, CA, he joined the Army and served in the Korean War, then spent 1 year in the Air Force Reserves at McCord Air Force base in Tacoma, Wa. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Ellorie Knauss in 1951. During their marriage they raised 8 children. Ken was a resident of Salem for 47 years. He was a life long mechanic & truck driver and retired in 1992. He spent his retirement years raising beef on his small acreage, tending to a vegetable garden, and traveling. He modeled a life of service to his church, his family and his community. Ken safely arrived in Heaven after a lengthy illness. He will be especially missed by his loving wife of 61 years, his children Colleen (Tim) Padilla, Dennis, Judy (Rusty) Pritchard, Tammy (Jerry) Barnick, Jeff (Doreen), Andy, Daryl, Scott (Jennifer), 22 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. He is survived by his 2 sisters; Naomi Gwynn and Fern Smith and preceded in death by his 2 brothers; Leonard and Dale. Private internment will be at Willamette National Cemetery and a Memorial Service will be held at Salem Alliance Church, 555 Gaines St.NE, Salem, Ore. 97301 on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Jennifer Harris ministry through Salem Alliance Church.
