Jon Arlen Joseph Sr. (1931 - 2016)
Jon Arlen Joseph passed away at the Farmington Square Memory Care facility on January 31st, 2016. 

Jon was born on September 22nd, 1931 in Seattle, Washington, the son of George and Pauline Joseph. As the oldest of four sons, he graduated from Columbia Prep in 1949. After high school he joined the Air Force and was a pilot, flying missions over Europe and the Middle East in a C-119 cargo plane during the Korean War. 

After completing his service to his country, Jon returned home and attended the University of Oregon. He received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1953 and graduated from Law School in 1960. He was admitted to the Oregon Bar Association in 1961, serving as the Lane County Bar Association President in 1971. 

He began in career as a law clerk and practiced family law and was a Municipal Court Judge in the Eugene/Springfield area for over 40 years. 

In 1951, he married Mary Ann Schroetke. They had three children, Jon Jr, Pauline (Polly) and Eugene (Gene) and were married for 23 years. In 1976, Jon married Margo Janes St. Clair, his wife of 40 years. 

His passions included family, golf, traveling, deep sea fishing, tennis, mystery novels, sports cars, a good cheeseburger and vanilla milkshakes. Cheers, dad! 

Our "Gramps", as he was affectionately called, is survived by his wife, Margo, sons Jon (Renae), Gene (Cathy), Geoff, Greg (Rosemary), ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. His daughter, Polly died in 2015. 

"The reality is that we will grieve forever. We will not "get over" the loss of our gramps. We will learn to live with it. We will heal and we will rebuild ourselves around it. We will be whole again but we will never be the same. Nor should or would we want to be?" Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and John Kessler. 

A special thank you to Farmington Square Assisted Living for the compassion shown to him and the Joseph family during this difficult time. 

Jon's memorial service will be held March 5th at 2:30PM at Musgrove Family Mortuary, 225 S. Danebo Avenue, Eugene. 

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to one of Jon's many favorite charities: , -Eugene Chapter, Greenhill Animal Shelter, Peace Health Hospice, or Farmington Square Assisted Living.
